"I had numerous great experiences with Dan restoring furniture for us after the flood. His prices were exceedingly reasonable compared with other estimates that I received.
His attention to detail was amazing. He restored two 18th century french wood chairs with tons of detail. They had flooded but also had about 20 layers of paint on them and he painstakingly removed all of the paint from every tiny (and i mean tiny) carved leaf and flower so that the chairs are beautiful.
He additionally almost entirely rebuilt a liquor cabinet from the early 20th century. This cabinet had sentimental value to my family but was not a valuable antique (another restorer dismissed it as not really worth anything). Dan was respectful of my family's feelings about the piece and not only restored the cabinet to its former state, but rendered it more lovely by replacing what had previously been veneer with solid mahogany.
Dan's work ethic is amazing. One chair that we (regretfully but expensively) had restored somewhere else before we found Dan, Dan reupholstered. While he was working on it, he discovered that it had originally been upholstered in a very odd way that could not be repeated. He spent a long time figuring out how to make the cording to go around the edge of the upholstery, and consulted with lots of other folks. All of that effort for just one chair.
So, as you can tell, we are very pleased with Dan's work. He does beautiful work and is extremely professional. He is also a lovely person. :)"
